FORT EDWARD, N.Y. -- The man responsible for killing one person and injuring five others after he purposely drove his car into oncoming traffic is sentenced to six months in jail.
Ora Roaix, 44, of Granville was sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation Friday afternoon.
Roaix drove his car into the opposite lane of traffic on Route 22 back in July 2013.
Roaix intended to kill himself, but survived with severe injuries.
Massachusetts resident Lisa Martin was killed in the crash.
Her family was in court for the sentencing.
"She was a living, breathing human being who had so very much to live for and who treasured the precious gift of life. Lisa was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, as well as other family titles," said a family member.
Martin was 43 years old.
Roaix's license will also be suspended for one year.
