PINE BUSH, N.Y. -- Federal prosecutors say Pine Bush school officials failed to adequately respond to claims of anti-Semitism on school grounds.
In court papers, government lawyers said there is sufficient evidence to show the school failed to respond to pervasive anti-Semitic harassment in its schools.
Lawyers even raise questions as to whether the district was deliberately indifferent to the harassment.
The district is currently being sued by several families who claim their kids were subjected to anti-Semitic behavior.
Governor Cuomo mentioned the reports earlier this month in his state of the state address calling them disturbing and troubling.
In response to that, district leaders said so far, these reports are just allegations that are still being investigated.
