ALBANY, N.Y.-- Snow emergencies are in effect in several cities and towns across the Capital Region.
Amsterdam: Snow Emergency effective at 9AM Thursday, January 2nd. The Snow Emergency requires that all motor vehicles be removed from City of Amsterdam streets by 9AM on January 2nd. Vehicles must remain off city streets until the snow emergency is lifted.
Town of Brunswick: The Town of Brunswick, New York has declared that a "snow emergency" will be in effect beginning Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 2:00pm and will remain in effect until Friday, January 3, 2014 at 12:00pm.
Local residents are reminded that vehicles are prohibited from parking on any public street during this snow emergency. Vehicles in violation of this local law will be subject to ticketing and/or towing at owners expense.
Town of Brunswick Office will be closed Friday, January 3, 2014.
Village of Catskill: A Snow emergency in effect for the Village of Catskill. All cars should be parked on the even side of Village streets from 8AM-8PM. Vehicles should then be parked on the odd side of the street from 8PM until 8AM. Vehicles should continue to switch sides of the street every 12 hours until all streets have been cleaned of snow.
Coeymans: A Snow Emergency has been declared by both the Town of Coeymans and The Village of Ravena. The emergency declaration is effective immediately and extends until Saturday January 4th, at 8am. During the Snow Emergency there is no parking on Village Streets or Town Roads. Any vehicle parked on the Village or Town roadways will be subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. East Greenbush: The Town of East Greenbush has declared that a snow emergency will be in effect beginning Thursday, January 2 at 11:00 a.m. Local residents are reminded that vehicles are prohibited from parking on any public street during this snow emergency. Vehicles in violation of this local law will be subject to ticketing and/or towing.
Lenox: The Town of Lenox, MA has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY beginning today at 8:00AM continuing through Friday, 03 January 2014 at 7:00PM. Any vehicles parked on any streets town wide will be towed at the owner’s expense for snow removal purposes.
Mechanicville: The City of Mechanicville has declared a Snow Emergency. There will be no odd side parking beginning at 8AM Thursday, January 2nd, and continuing until 8AM Friday, January 3rd. There will be no even side parking beginning at 8AM on Friday, January 3rd, continuing until 8AM on Saturday, January 4th.
Rensselaer: The City of Rensselaer has declared that a Snow Emergency will be in effect on Thursday, January 2nd, at 8:00AM. There will be no parking on the even side of the streets for a 24 hour period. After 24 hours, there will be no parking on the odd side of the street. The Snow Emergency will be continued until such time that the City of Rensselaer calls it off.
Saratoga Springs: In accordance with City Code Section 225-57, a snow emergency has been declared beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 2. Beginning at 9 p.m. on January 2, all vehicles on city streets (except alternate side parking streets) must be moved to a plowed or cleared area. Accordingly, all vehicles must be moved every 12 hours thereafter until 9 p.m. on Saturday, January 4. Except for those streets posted for alternate side parking, it shall be unlawful to park or stand a motor vehicle for any continuous period of time in excess of 12 hours. All vehicles in violation of the city's snow emergency parking relations are subject to being ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
Town of Schodack: A Snow Emergency is declared for the Town of Schodack effective January 2nd through Friday, January 3rd, at 6:00PM with no on street parking.
Village of Scotia: The Village of Scotia has declared a snow emergency from 12 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, January 3rd. During that time, no parking is permitted on Village streets. Vehicles in violation will be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
Waterford: The Town of Waterford has declared a snow emergency starting 9AM Thursday, January 2nd until further notice. Residents are asked to park in their driveways and pay attention to all emergency parking signs.
Village of Whitehall: Village of Whitehall Public Works Superintendent Donald Williams has advised that a SNOW EMERGENCY will be in effect for the Village of Whitehall beginning at 7:00 PM tonight (01/02/2014) and expiring tomorrow (01/03/2014) at 12:00 PM.
NO PARKING will be permitted on any village street / roadway or village owned public parking area / lot throughout the duration of the SNOW EMERGENCY.
Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and/or towed at the owners expense.

Albany: The City of Albany has declared a snow emergency to take effect Friday, January 3 at 8 p.m. All cars must be moved to the even side of the street. Any vehicles in violation of the parking regulations may be towed. Residents are encouraged to sign up for Nixle to receive specific alerts from the Albany Police Department based on your neighborhood location. Nixle will provide real time text messages and emails with important information. Head to www.albanyny.gov to sign up for the alerts.
