ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany man plead guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs into the Albany County Jail.
According to the Albany County District Attorney's office, Laroy Cooper, 34, plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said they executed a search warrant at a home on Second Avenue, and found Cooper with more than 51 grams of cocaine.
While he was being processed, officers found another five grams of cocaine during a search. Cooper now faces five years in state prison followed by three years of post release supervision.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
