ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Robert Krahulik, the Orange County Republican chairman, has stepped down.
His resignation follows recent accusations of sending lewd photos of himself to a woman on Facebook. During the party's monthly meeting, Krahulik said he would step down for 60 days while the incident was investigated. However, the New York State GOP says Krahulik handed in his resignation on Monday night.
Courtney Canfield-Greene, the first vice chairman, will take over his role for the remainder of the term.
In a statement, Canfield-Greene said, "I am pleased Mr. Krahulik has put the Orange County Republican Party and its candidates first. Now we can all re-focus on the critical work that lay ahead during the 2014 election season.”
Austin DuBois, the committee’s second vice chair, will take over Canfield-Greene’s role as first vice chair.
