WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The deadline for a controversial contract is fast approaching at a nuclear power plant in Westchester County.
Utility Workers of America, the union representing nearly 400 workers at Indian Point Plant in Buchanan, is negotiating a contract that expires Friday at midnight.
Both sides say they hope to reach an agreement without a strike.
There hasn't been a strike at Indian Point in over 30 years.
However, a spokesperson for the union says issues like wages and benefits are still unresolved.
The owner of the plant says managers and supervisors will fill in to keep the plant running should the union go on strike.
