GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- Even with many schools on break this week, it doesn't mean it's time to stop learning.
A Gloversville Art Gallery owner decided to use the holiday to teach students - using arts and crafts - just what President's Day is all about.
Those in attendance dipped and painted their own Abraham Lincoln candles, and baked and frosted their own George Washington cupcakes.
The gallery owner says using arts and crafts is her favorite way to teach.
"I think it's really important to make history visual, so you get the teachers who go in reenactment costumes, you nail them, you just have them then," Cheryl Bielli said.
And the learning's not over yet. Bielli is preparing an arts and craft activity about Black History month.
She will be in Gloversville schools next week to teach that lesson.
