NATIONWIDE -- Former child star, Shirley Temple Black, has died.
According to her publicist, she died Monday night in California from natural causes. She was 85.
Black was born in 1928, and start dancing and acting by the time she was 3. She made dozens of movies, including "Bright Eyes", "Heidi", and "The Little Princess." In 1935, Black was the top box office draw at age 7, and was credited with saving 20th Century Fox from bankruptcy.
She retired at age 21, and later became active in politics. Black was survived by her three children, a granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.
