ALBANY, N.Y. -- The New York State Conservative Party held its annual conference in Albany on Sunday.
It comes a little more than a week after comments Governor Andrew Cuomo made about conservatives ignited lots of backlash from the right.
In a radio interview with Susan Arbetter on Capitol Pressroom earlier this month, Cuomo said extreme conservatives have no place in New York.
The governor said he was speaking specifically about campaigns, suggesting candidates with conservative views on certain issues will struggle to win office
Former gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino spoke at the event.
Rob Astorino, Cuomo's possible challenger this fall, is speaking at the event when it continues Monday.
