RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Many people braved the frigid waters on Grafton Lake for the 7th Annual Polar Plunge.
The polar plunge is part of Grafton Lakes State Park's Winter Festival.
It's the 29th year of the festival that provides entertainment for people during the cold weather.
Organizers say jumping in during frigid temperatures is worth it for the good cause.
"The money is raised for research for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They are creating new drug studies and just general research to find a cure for the disease," said Margaret Phillips, Fundraiser.
Those who attended the festival could also participate in activities like the snow sculpture contest and snowshoeing.
