ALBANY, N.Y. -- We've been giving you a sneak peak into the Madison Theater all this week.
And now, the theater is back open for business.
Mayor Kathy Sheehan and dozens of people made their way out for the official ribbon cutting to reopen the historic theatre.
It will begin a new era of classic and second run films at the neighborhood theatre.
"Well, it's very exciting, this is great for the neighborhood and to cut that ribbon, the mayor had a tradition of always saving a slice of ribbon from every ribbon cutting, so I have my first one and I'm gonna cherish it," said Kathy Sheehan, Albany Mayor.
The first thing shown on the big screen is a weeklong tribute to actor Paul Newman, with a showing of four of his iconic films.
