WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man accused of killing his estranged wife in Lake Luzerne on Christmas Eve pleads not guilty in court.
Clifford Burns entered the plea on five charges, including second degree murder, in Warren County Court Wednesday morning.
Prosecutors say he drove from his home in Niskayuna to Patricia Burns' Lake Avenue apartment where he stabbed her.
Burns' daughter, 22, was also injured in the attack when police say she tried to stop it.
"There were a lot of emotions involved. What actually drove him on that day to make the trip from Niskayuna to Lake Luzerne with the intent to do what he did, I don't know," said Kate Hogan, Warren County District Attorney.
Burns was remanded to the Warren County Jail without bail.
No future court date has been set.
