STILLWATER, N.Y. -- The Stillwater woman who plead guilty to the shooting death of her boyfriend has been sentenced to 18.5 years in state prison.
According to prosecutors, Joey Paul shot and killed Matthew Furlani in July 2012. She plead guilty to manslaughter charges last November. As part of the plea, she admitted to shooting Furlani while under the influence of extreme emotional disturbance.
After serving her prison term, Paul will serve an additional five years of post release supervision.
