All around the Capital Region, people are gearing up for parties tonight, and it just wouldn't be a proper New Year's without the area's biggest party: First Night Saratoga! That's where we find our Geoff Redick, with the final preparations in place and all the revelers ready to have a good time.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- It's starting to fill up here in the Spa City, though we really wish it would heat up tonight! Temperatures are forecast to drop into the low teens and with a slight breeze in the air, it really sends a chill through you!
But we'll be all right up here, and so will everyone else if they decide to come up.
A whole host of indoor activities for kids, and adults and families. Live music and entertainment shows are scheduled on the hour, every hour right up until midnight and of course there's the fireworks show to take in as well.
First Night and everything that goes with it, has really become an indelible part of this community.
That's right, well more than two-hundred community volunteers are making all this happen.
And for anyone who plans to come up and enjoy a beer or cocktail, CDTA is once again offering free bus rides to anyone wearing the special First Night pin. You can still pick those up at Saratoga Arts, the City Center or the Lake Avenue School, for $15 a piece.
