ALBANY, N.Y. -- With Christmas behind us, many are starting to look toward the New Year. But for large number of Americans, New Year's resolutions are as easy to make as they are to break.
Topping the list for people is losing weight, eating better and exercising more. Trainers say they always see an influx of new members in the beginning of the year. They suggest that people set realistic goals that work within their lifestyle.
"To do that, you need to be able to start coming in. Maybe start with some cardio several times a week. You got to take your body where it's at. So if you can only do 15 minutes, it's more than if you didn't come in," said Kelly Degnan, a trainer at Planet Fitness.
Many gyms are also offering special deals and discounts for new members who sign up in 2014.
