BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hockey fans aren't the only ones hurting from the ongoing NHL lockout.
Local businesses are also feeling iced out, and Friday, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand urged business owners to come together to cope with the fallout.
The Small Business Administration hosted a workshop to inform business owners of resources that can help them during the lockout; including smaller, short-term loans, and technical assistance.
Organizers say the turnout at the workshop shows just how much the city has been affected.
"The feedback so far has been great, and I was amazed with the attendance. There had to be over 100 people here," said Franklin Sciortino, SBA Buffalo District Director.
As of November, the Buffalo economy had lost nearly $2 million in hotel revenues due to the lockout.
