KINGTON, N.Y. -- The Kingston Hospital Foundation sponsored a walk as part of Healthy Ulster County Week. It was a small turnout, but those who participated walked for a great cause. They're encouraging the community to eat better, exercise more, and increase health awareness.
Those in attendance walked about a mile from the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley’s Kingston Hospital to the Benedictine Hospital, one of which might not be open much longer.
A cardiac tech told YNN many employees are nervous and stressed as the hospital faces the potential for closure.
“It’s better you know…even if it’s bad news. It’s better to know than to keep wondering and worrying every day you’re going to work…is your job going to be there? Is the building still going to be open?” said Ginny Scully, Kingston Hospital Cardiac Tech.
Scully said there's a department meeting Thursday with the administrator, and hospital employees hope to find out more.
Healthy Ulster County Week events will continue through Monday.
